How to Play

Overview

The Predictor game is a fun, free to play game where players attempt to predict the winning team from matches played in either The Betfred Men’s Super League, Betfred Women’s Super League, Betfred Championship or Betfred League One.

The Predictor Game is played online and players are required to have an RL1 account to take part. Many Rugby League services require an RL1 account, including SuperLeague+, Ourleague App and Fantasy Super League so there’s a good chance you’ll already have an account.

Getting Started

Simply click a team badge or the draw icon on a match to make a prediction. If you aren’t signed into your RL1 account you will be prompted to do so. If you don’t have an account, it’s simple and free to create one. If you’re not sure whether you have an account, you can first start with the forgot my password feature and check whether you receive an email with reset details.

Prediction & Weighed Scoring

The prediction deadline is 1 hour before kick-off of any match in the future. You can make predictions or change your prediction as many times as you like until the deadline.

After the match has been played, the result will be added and displayed above the match. If you predicted correctly you will be assigned the points for the match. As the predictor uses weighted scoring, the points available differs based on your selection and the likelihood of your choice team winning. As an example, if the team at the top of the league plays the team at the bottom, the scoring would be heavily weighted for the lower team as the likelihood of the lower team winning is slim. You therefore earn more points for higher risk predictions and vice versa. The points available for each selection is shown in the circle next to the team and choosing a draw will always gain you 10 points if correct. Weighted scores are assigned approximated 1 week before the match takes place.

Leagues

By default all players are entered into the overall standings where you compete against all playing the game. You will display in the league tables as your name from your RL1 account. You can change this name to one of your choice by selecting My Team from the More menu.

You can also create your own private leagues and invite your friends via email or by providing them the unique PIN code displayed at the top of the league. Only the creator of the league can see the PIN code and send email invites.
